JOB SUMMARY
Accountable for providing assessment of patient and family social/emotional needs, assists in coordinating discharge planning; serves as an advocate as well as a liaison between Hospital staff, patient and community while also working to research and develop programs to meet the social/emotional needs of patients and families.

Education: Bachelor''s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Minnesota Social Work licensure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to integrate social work concepts and functions into the medical setting unique to an acute Hospital unit toward the end of meeting the needs of patients, their families and the community served. Knowledge of policies, regulations and procedures of the Hospital. Expertise in interviewing techniques with individuals, families and other groups. Knowledge of medical terminology; of area health care facilities and social service agencies. Ability to make and implement professional judgments, establish and maintain good working relationships with patients, families, public and co-workers, establish goals and work toward their completion, maintain confidentiality, respond positively to supervision, express ideas clearly in written and verbal forms, and ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently while under stress.
READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10''s and 100''s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
